Next Training: February 2023

This training will be held virtually on Zoom

This training is a mandatory introduction for new partner organizations who have completed a partner interest form and have initiated plans together with the California Naturalist & Climate Stewards program team to offer the course. For our existing established partner programs, this training is optional for any new instructors that are part of your team, and strongly requested of any instructors who have not attended a training within the last 3 years.

California Naturalist: $100/person

Climate Stewards: $200/person

Attendance: Instructors must attend all sessions and review and complete any asynchronous materials.

Registration and payment: We are now hosting registrations for instructor trainings through the volunteer portal. Space is limited and organizations that are currently planning courses with the California Naturalist Program in 2023 -2024 will be given priority for participation. To receive the link to register, please reach out to etfreutel@ucanr.edu.

Once you complete your registration, you will be given a link to a payment survey. PLEASE NOTE that your attendance is tentative until we receive payment.

Training organizers: The training team includes California Naturalist Program staff, with support from experienced program instructors and local experts.

Asynchronous materials: Prior to each class session registrants will receive materials for asynchronous review. To maximize our meeting time, we have prepared these materials with essential information to learn about the California Naturalist and Climate Stewards programs and ensure a successful course. We will reference them in the face to face sessions, so please be sure to look over all materials.

Additionally, we recommend participants become familiar with the UC California Naturalist website and the UC California Naturalist Handbook and the UC Climate Stewards Handbook that serves as the textbook for the programs, respectively. The Handbook is not included in the workshop cost. Click here for 30% off.

A sample agenda will be sent out before the event.
