Course Description

Introduction to California's unique ecology and stewardship of California's natural communities with certification as a California Naturalist and training in Project Learning Tree. The UC ANR California Naturalist program uses a science curriculum, hands-on learning, problem-solving, citizen science, and community service to encourage engagement with nature and conservation of local resources. Upon successful completion of course requirements for BIO-21 California Naturalist, participants will have the option of obtaining the UC California Naturalist Certification. This certification will build their resume and become a more desirable candidate to work or volunteer for public land agencies or environmental education organizations. 36 hours lecture 54 hours laboratory. (Letter grade only).
