Chico Creek Nature Center

The UC Division of Agriculture & Natural Resources, Chico Creek Nature Center, and California State Parks are proud to partner to bring you a Feather River and Lake Oroville focused California Naturalist Certification course.

If you enjoy exploring and learning about our local ecology, engaging in citizen science and sharing your knowledge with others, this program is for you! The 40-hour course will combine citizen science, guest lecturers and field trips, in its curriculum and a volunteer experience to help students explore the unique ecology and natural history of the Feather River watershed and Lake Oroville area.

Eight evening classes will be held at Lake Oroville Visitor’s Center classroom and four required field days will be held along the Feather River as well as in the Lake Oroville area.  This course is appropriate for students that range from AP level high school students through to adults of all ages.  Only one absence is allowed and must be made up to get credit for the course.  All students are required to obtain a copy of the California Naturalist Handbook.
