|Brief course description||
Join us for a trip to Kenya to learn from the inspirational and amazing Raabia Hawa and her dedication to the Unbound Project! Hawa is coming to Lindsay to talk about the need for protection of Kenyan wildlife on Saturday, Oct. 13, at 6 p.m.
An Honorary Warden with the Kenya Wildlife Service, Hawa is also the Executive Director of the Ulinzi Africa Foundation, an organization she founded in 2014. Their primary focus is the welfare and empowerment of wildlife rangers, and it is the first non-profit of this type in East Africa.
They also reach out to local communities and instated an amnesty initiative that allowed individuals to turn in family heirlooms of ivory and animal skins without being punished by the law.
The popular Conservation Icons speaker series brings to Walnut Creek renowned thinkers, researchers, and leaders who inspire audiences to think differently about the natural world–and wildlife–around us.
