About Asilomar State Park
Asilomar State Park's rich history dates back to its origins as a YWCA Leadership Camp built in 1913. Known as Monterey Peninsula’s “Refuge by the Sea,” the state park is located on 107 acres of state beach and conference grounds, within the quaint and scenic town of Pacific Grove. Asilomar is celebrated for its restored dune ecosystem and architectural gems designed by Julia Morgan.

In 2014, California State Parks commemorate 150 years of providing for the health, inspiration and education of the people of California. California State Parks maintain not only the natural beauty of California, but provide recreation, escape, history and a special place for contemplation and reflection.

While on the grounds at Asilomar, the 107 acres of California State Park and State Beach property provide ample opportunity for exploring the dunes, walking along the beach or swimmimg in the heated pool. Asilomar offers charming, rustic accommodations. In keeping with this tradition, guest rooms are free of modern-day distractions such as telephones and televisions, however complimentary Wi-Fi service is available in all guest rooms, the main lobby and the business center. Telephone messages received by the Front Desk will be delivered to your room. If an emergency message is received, every attempt will be made to locate you immediately. The dining hall is centrally located on the grounds. Casual attire is appropriate for all conference events. We recommend dressing in layers which can be easily added or removed as you travel through the micro-climates found on the Monterey Peninsula. Pacific Grove's average high in October is 68°F, the average low is 51°F and the average precipitation for the entire month is 1.06in.

Pacific Grove, CA
Sharing borders with the Monterey Bay, City of Monterey, Pacific Ocean, and the Del Monte Forest, Pacific Grove offers breathtaking views and unparallelled recreational activities. The monarch migration to Pacific Grove is so inspiring that Pacific Grove is nicknamed “Butterfly Town, U.S.A.” Monarch Butterflies arrive in October to cluster together on the pines and eucalyptus trees of the Pacific Grove’s Monarch Grove Sanctuary and leave in late February, migrating east for the summer.
