Certified California Tribal Naturalist (4 unit course)
A co-designed curriculum that addresses priorities & cultural relevancy for California tribes. The mission is to foster a diverse community of naturalists and promote stewardship of California's natural resources through education and service.
Leadership team includes:
Sage La Pena: Ethnobotanist (Co-Instructor)
Dr. Adina Merenlender: Founder of the California Naturalist Program and Professor of Cooperative Extension in Conservation Science
Juliet Maestas: Executive Director CA Tribal College
Greg Ira: Director of the UC California Naturalist Program.
Guest experts from Indigenous communities across California will be presenting throughout the course.
When: Wednesday 4 - 6 pm (April 13 - June 8) and 1 immersion field trip (April 22 - 25) 9 Classes/2 hours
