The California Naturalist Program seeks to foster a committed corps of volunteer naturalists and citizen scientists trained and ready to take an active role in natural resource conservation, education, and restoration. The California Naturalist course will introduce you to the wonders of our local ecology and engage you in the stewardship of California’s natural communities. The course will combine a junior college level introductory science course curriculum with guest lecturers, field trips, and project based learning to immerse you in the natural world of the northern Sierra foothills.

Meeting Times: The class will be held Wednesday evenings April 25 to June 27, from 6:00 pm – 8:30 pm.

Field Trips: There will be a minimum of three Saturday Field trips.  Some trips will start around 7:00 – 9:00 am and end around 12:00 – 2:00 pm and some may start at 1:00 pm and end around 4 pm. We will meet at the field trip site and information about when and where to go will be sent out to you before the trip.
