San Gabriel Mountains
The National Forest Foundation, US Forest Service Southern California Consortium, and Watershed Conservation Authority are joining forces to offer the California Naturalist certification in conjunction with young adult leadership development programs in the Angeles National Forest and San Gabriel River Watershed.
May 14, 2016 – July 29, 2016
Inclusive course for leadership development program participants.
The young adults in this program represent Pacoima Beautiful Nature Ambassadors, San Gabriel Canyon Watershed Rangers (members of San Gabriel Valley Conservation Corps), USFS MobilizeGreen Field Rangers, and USFS Youth Conservation Corps. The training they receive through the California Naturalist Program enhances their summer work assignments as interpreters and stewards in some of the most heavily used public open spaces in Southern California. Participants will build skills and knowledge that prepare them for college and careers, and upon course completion, are eligible for four units of academic credit from UC Davis Extension.
Course Location: USFS Angeles National Forest Headquarters, Arcadia, CA, and various field locations
