Project Purpose (taken from project materials)
Contribute to growing citizen-science datasets on the distribution of the plants and animals around Point Lobos State Reserve. Data will help build a species guide and understanding of biodiversity in the watershed.

Volunteer Qualifications
Volunteers must be able to photograph taxa and upload to iNaturalist, either through a mobile device (iPhone or Android) or from a personal computer

Volunteer Training
No training is necessary to upload observations.
However, the UC California Naturalist certificate training program is associated with this project. In 2012, training was designed "to foster a committed corps of volunteer naturalists and citizen scientists trained and ready to take an active role in natural resource conservation, education, and restoration." Trainees received training related to California Coastal ecosystems, as well as to Naturalist and Citizen Science related activities more broadly

There is no cost to participate in this project.
The 10-week CA Naturalist training costs $350.
