Sponsor: California Naturalist

The course will hopefully take place in-person, but it may be a hybrid of self-paced outdoor explorations, live online workshop-style class sessions, and fully social-distanced outdoor guided field trips depending on Shelter in Place orders. Please contact the instructor for the latest details.

The National Forest Foundation is offering the California Naturalist certification course in conjunction with young adult leadership development programs in the Angeles National Forest, San Gabriel Mountains National Monument, and Cleveland National Forest.

The training the young adults receive through the California Naturalist Program enhances their work assignments as interpreters and stewards in some of the most heavily used public open spaces in Southern California. Participants build skills and knowledge that prepare them for college and careers, and upon course completion, are eligible for four units of academic credit from UC Davis Extension.

Courses for leadership development program participants.
