 Guidelines for participating authors

Author participation is complementary, however participating authors MUST be registered for the conference AND fill one of the following criteria: a certified California Naturalist, a California Naturalist in-training, an invited plenary speaker, panel/concurrent session speaker, or a Friday trainer. If you do meet both criteria, please fill out the application and comment regarding why you'd like to be considered and we will get back to you ASAP.

Want to submit a poster proposal too? No problem, just stick a little sign on the poster that says "come see me at the Natural History Book Corner".

This is the Natural History Book Corner: only natural history and related books will be accepted. Non-fiction and fiction written for any age of reader are all acceptable as long as the content is in line with the California Naturalist mission. Other non-book items (arts and crafts, journals, jewelry, posters, notecards etc) will not be considered. If you'd like to make a personal donation of other types of items (or a book!) there will be a silent auction and you can display your item and business cards there until the auction ends and your item goes home with its new owner.

Authors are responsible for their own books, sales/cash/change/receipt handling, pens for signing etc. We will provide shared table space, a printed name plate, and one chair for each author. We anticipate you'll only have enough room to bring 2-3 different books to display. Please make sure any display materials are approximately book-sized and free-standing on the table space you are provided. There will not be a curtain/board to hang anything on, nor will electricity be provided.

Thank you in advance for filling out the application below. We will be in touch to answer any questions, let you know exactly how much room you'll have, and who your contact person will be for follow-up questions. In the meantime, you may contact us at canaturalist@ucanr.edu with questions and feedback.
